History
Plumbers’ Supply Company has a long history in New Bedford as it has been doing business in the city since the 1800’s. The original Plumbers’ Supply faucet can still be seen on the company’s former building on Water Street in downtown New Bedford. In 1977, Plumbers’ Supply Company, with its single location in New Bedford, was acquired by Snow & Jones from the Holcomb family. The Plumbers’ Supply Company name was retained.
In 1980 James “Jimmie” Jones and his two sons Kevin and Jay parted from Snow & Jones with the New Bedford and Taunton locations. This became the start of the current ownership of Plumbers’ Supply Company. Since 1980, through a series of acquisitions and branch openings, Plumbers’ Supply Company has grown from two branches to sixteen wholesale locations, three kitchen and bath showrooms and a distribution center. Kevin and Jay continue to own and operate the business today.

Plumbers’ Supply Company opened its current Fall River facility on Rodman Street

Plumbers’ Supply Company opened the Martha’s Vineyard branch

Plumbers’ Supply Company opened the Middletown, RI branch
1987
Plumbers’ Supply Company acquired Fall River Steam and Gas which included the Bath Cove showroom
1988
Plumbers’ Supply Company opened its second Bath Cove showroom in Middletown, RI
1992
Plumbers’ Supply Company opened the Nantucket branch
1996
Plumbers’ Supply Company acquired Tondre Supply resulting in the Smithfield, RI and East Providence RI branches
1997
Plumbers’ Supply Company acquired Southeastern Supply in New Bedford which was integrated into the operations of the Acushnet Avenue facility
1999
Plumbers’ Supply Company acquired Capeway Supply’s Wareham location

Plumbers’ Supply Company acquired American Wholesale in Easton
2006
Plumbers’ Supply Company opened it’s 85,000 square foot distribution center and corporate headquarters on Church Street in New Bedford

Plumbers’ Supply Company acquired Central Supply’s locations in Woodsville & Lebanon, NH
